LEAD THE CLIMB x CILAO - the start of a common adventure!
CILAO is delighted to be supporting Lead The Climb in its efforts to promote mountaineering and mountain sports to women through a technical partnership.
LEAD THE CLIMB in few words
Lead The Climb was founded in 2017 by Marion Poitevin, a mountain guide and member of police rescue forces.
Today, the association, which is affiliated to the FFCAM, offers a number of courses designed to train participants to become a leader in mountain. These courses, which cover climbing, mountaineering and ice climbing, account for more than 200 days of training every year!
Lead The Climb is also 3 teams (LTC+, LTC and Alpi' jeunes) comprising 13 women, selected for 2-year training cycles in a variety of terrains. The aim of these long-term training cycles is to lead the participants to autonomy on major races.
The genesis of the CILAO x Lead The Climb partnership
It was during discussions with Anaïs Pellat-Finet, a member of the 1st LTC+ class and now part of the CILAO team, that the idea of a long-term partnership with Lead The Climb was born.
Tiphaine Dupérier and Morgan Perissé, both mountain guides and CILAO's athletes, have also been leading LTC courses for a number of years. So the link was already there, it just needed to be developed.
A meeting with Lara, President of Lead The Climb, enabled us to define the scope of this support for the LTC teams.
Over the period 2024-2025, CILAO will equip all 3 LTC promotion with Papang 33 mountaineering backpacks.
These bags, embroidered in the Lead The Climb colours, will accompany the 13 trainees throughout their training cycle.
The partnership also covered :
- Equipping the 2024 - 2025 and subsequent classes
- Carry out repairs on the bags to extend the life of the products
- To enable the bags to be passed on to subsequent classes, with a view to reducing their environmental impact
Benefit from feedback from field to continue improving the bags
Organise joint events to promote women's mountaineering
